Distraction never sleeps
If there is one thing that I’ve discovered during the COVID-19 quarantine it’s that distraction never sleeps. Even when we seem to have time at the house, we still seem to get distracted from our family/personal goals.
I don’t have enough time’ now feels like an empty excuse, and for some, quarantine has even felt busier than normal. Our attention has shifted to screens now more than ever and our mental focus is being stretched in a very unique way.
When we look at ourselves, we may see that our distractions have not gone away. In fact, we may find a few new distractions.
Perhaps the issue is not that there are new distractions, but it’s the same perspective.
Keep in mind that when it comes to having a relationship with God, there will always be a new distraction to shake your focus.
Here is your prayer for the remainder of this week:
’Draw me closer’.
When we separate our heart and mind from our daily routine, our prayers become focused. We simply pray 'Draw me close’ with a sincere heart and let our focus shift to God. It is in this focus that we find the focus we need for or family/personal goals.
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
